Volunteers are vital to us. Last year volunteers donated 3,300 hours to our child protection activities, saving us more than $130,000 in wages! Put simply, we couldn’t achieve our goals without the help of volunteers who selflessly give up their time in support of our cause.

Whatever your skills or personality type, there’s something you can do to help us keep kids safe. Some examples of how volunteers can lend a hand include:

Working at our ACT for Kids family centres: Our offices throughout Queensland help abused kids and their families with counselling support. We often need help with office duties, gardening and other general tasks.
Assisting with fundraising events: We hold all kinds of events throughout the year to raise money for our cause. Volunteers are essential to ensure each one is a success. We need help with event promotion, preparation, sales, customer service, as well as technical and general support.
Being there for our kids and families: We have a limited number of opportunities for volunteers to interact directly with the kids and families we support. Activities include child minding, helping out at family days and accompanying us on excursions.
Donating professional skills: We’re supported by lawyers, researchers, tradespeople, accountants and music therapists whose vocational skills have become indispensible.
Community fundraising: We can supply you with promotional material and merchandise so you can use your imagination and fundraise on our behalf.
